aboutus
As a small girl Beth's dream was always one of owning and riding beautiful Black Arabians. As she grew up she realised that the blacks were very rare and very cherished indeed, but the dream continued. Beth had ridden from a young age. Her parents not being able to afford to buy her a pony of her own meant that she often rode ponies that nobody else would, so, as an adult, bought her own although not an Arabian.

When she married the wonderfully supportive Colin, and had children, the priorities then were the children competing their ponies. The eldest daughter showjumping and the youngest showing and doing dressage. When the time came for the girls to progress from ponies to horses Beth recognised the opportunity to realise some of her own dreams so the hunt was on for an exquisite black mare with exceptional blood lines that would be able to compete in the dressage arena knowing that she would be left with the "grown out of pony" when her daughter left home, so BABYLON became the latest member of the family.

In 1998 the family moved to the rolling Exmoor countryside leaving farming behind to concentrate on a new venture of providing holiday accommodation. This gave the family more time to enjoy their equine friends. BABYLON now proved not only was she capable of dressage but was an outstanding hunter.

In 2003 as predicted the girls flew the nest and mum was left with the "grown out of ponies". So now the search for the perfect stallion began. After a whole year of searching, the exotic and exquisite Black Arabian AH SALUQ was found. After considerable negotiation AH SALUQ came home to us at Court Farm. This purchase was followed up a year later with the purchase of the exceptionally well bred MINSTRELLA (Minstrella has now retired to the south of France).

In 2006 an opportunity to acquire a rare black Simeon Sadik filly came along and Sadika became the latest member of the family to complete the foundation brood-mare herd. We have great expectations of this exceptional mare when bred to our outstanding stallion AH Saluq as she has already bred two champions!

The dream of breeding Black Arabians has now become a reality.

In 2007 Dreamfield's Prima Ballerina became available. Prima Ballerina gave us a beautiful homozygous black filly in 2009. Unfortunately Prima Ballerina was not destined to be a brood mare.

2010 has proved to be very exciting for Court Farm Arabian Stud with the purchase of ROE Mahbooba and her foal and an imminent move to larger premises.

AH SALUQ 's 2010 foals have now arrived and, again, they are everything we hoped for! See our Foals page for details, movies and pictures
