Minstrella's sire line: Minstrella's sire Al Sood is of all Egyptian breeding. His grandsire was the spectacular athletic Saab. The rest of his breeding is showhorse breeding. Bay Saab, his son out of Mossa RSI, was the result of a Babson/EAO Egyptian cross. Mossa RSI is by the Babson-bred Egyptian stallion, Faarad (Farris x Fadba) and out of Soja RSI (Rashad Ibn Nazeer x Bint Dahma ). She was the foundation mare for Meranti Desert Arabians. Al Sood's dam was of Ansata breeding - foundation sire Ansata Ibn Halima (a Nazeer son) and his sons Ansata Ibn Sudan and Ansata Halima. This is a multiple Nazeer breeding programme breeding for the ultra extreme Egyptian look. Minstrella's dam line Minstrella's dam, Doosti, however, was a daughter of the Crabbet /Babson cross mare Latifah who also appears in Babylon's pedigree. Latifah, was a daughter of the all Crabbet /Old English mare Scindy, a big substantial Indian Magic granddaughter, and the very different Babson Egyptian imported stallion, The Shah. Doosti's sire Mista Beaujangles was the result of an Old Egyptian/CMK cross stallion bred back to a CMK mare (HMR Hallanys Mesaoud x Kapri Nah) so, although black from the Old Egyptian line to Hallanny Mistanny, his scope and structure was more CMK in outline. Doosti was shown in hand at the National Show on a regular basis. She was a pretty and well constructed mare. Like all the close up Latifah family, she inherited the big Indian Magic stride. |
